Taghazout: Morocco’s Surf Village
Our surf camp is based in Aourir, just 5 minutes from famous Taghazout. This colorful fishing village has become one of the world’s most popular surf destinations, with more than 15 surf spots in a 30-kilometre radius , from beginner-friendly sandy beaches to world-renowned point breaks like Anchor Point.
Lessons for Beginners to Advanced
Hamza grew up in Skhirat Plage, near Rabat, where he learned on a demanding wave shaped by a small island that makes swell break from two directions. With a close group of friends, he co-founded AJSS, a surf school created with official permission from the King near the palace. From a young age, he spent winters traveling to Aourir and Taghazout to surf, long before the area became a major surf destination. Over the years, he has surfed and coached in many camps, shaping a teaching style that is calm, technical, and deeply local.
Our Surf House in Aourir
Our surf house in Aourir (Banana Village) is more than a place to sleep , it’s the heart of the Surf Treasure Morocco family. With ocean views, a rooftop terrace, comfortable shared spaces, and chef Fatima’s homemade Moroccan meals, guests quickly feel at home.
Activities Beyond Surfing
Outside the water, there is plenty to do: sunrise yoga, skate sessions in local parks, a day trip to Paradise Valley in the Atlas Mountains, a visit to Agadir Souk, and of course the iconic Imsouane day trip to surf Africa’s longest wave.
When Should You Book?
Morocco is a year-round destination. October to April offers stronger swells and premium wave quality for intermediates and advanced surfers. May to September brings smaller, friendlier waves ideal for beginners, with warm weather between 18°C and 35°C.
