About this spot
Anchor Point is widely considered the best right-hand wave in Africa and one of the most famous surf spots in the world, but it is definitely a wave for advanced to expert surfers. The break has three main sections: the peak (mostly ridden by locals and pros), a second section ideal for advanced surfers, and a third section that can stay challenging depending on swell size. This rocky point can deliver rides up to 300–400 meters with clean, powerful walls on bigger days. Best with NW or W swell (1.5–3m) and light NE wind.
